Self Colored Portrait

the latest project from my portrait drawing class. this one was a big one. one the first ones to finish on day one of a two day project. it was fun to use colored pastels for the second time, but staying with that face was a bit tiring. still, i like how the project turned out.

and yes this is my actual skin color.

the main thing about the project was to use the color wheel and find interesting colors to use. i choose the analogous scheme of yellow-green through violet, where white was my brightest and violet was my darkest.
