This part of the episode freaked me the hell out. It was 6-something in the morning, I'd stayed up to watch the episode like it was the bloomin' Summer Sun celebration, and Discord putting his head/face on that balloon freaked me the hell out.
That scene was really touching... I remember getting goosebumps watching it for the first time The whole episode was rather scary. I guess because of the way Discord treats them - it's touching and some parts are just scary (at least to me)
Pinkie is my favourite character but I'm fine with anybody not liking her a much as I do. I for my part am as much annoyed by Rainbow Dash as you are annoyed by Pinkie and the reactions I get when I say I don't like Rainbow are just the same you got People should relax on other 'not liking' or 'liking their characters least'. Just because somebody doesn't like them doesn't make them horrible people
Anyway, that artwork is just great I love that expression Your humanized ponies are just gorgeous
I don't really know too many people who dislike ANY of the mane 6 ALL the time.
And to dislike Pinkie Pie? You have to have some sort of reason for that. I mean, seriously, she's arguably the most likeable of the 6. Ya, she's definitely random, but she's had all of one breakdown total (two if you include discord), only wants everyone to be happy, and always tries to be helpful.
I can't actually think of a single thing Pinkie Pie has done to deserve anyone's dislike except in "A Friend in Deed". And she actually gave him the one thing he wanted most in the entire world at the end of it.
... So... can you explain why you don't like Pinkie?
I know you didn't ask me, but I'd like to answer anyway x3 I personally don't like Pinkie (or, to be fair, I like her the least from the Mane 6), because she's just too happy, too fast, too hyper and too random all the time. I find it really hard to watch most of the episodes centered around her (except Party of One of course) because the constant speed and squeaky happiness is just too much. Like you said, in A Friend in Deed it was especially tough because she was just so terribly annoying. It's basically just a type of characer I generally dislike since they're difficult for me to sit through, so Pinkie is no exception from that
Those were my two cents x3 feel free to ignore it since I just meddled in.
That's exactly it though: 'not liking her' and 'liking her least' are VERY different things. It also seems to depend on the exposure - I'd wager she is FAR more popular as a supporting character ("Party of One" notwithstanding) than she is as a 'focus' character.
It's hard NOT to like her if you only interact with her casually - we see that in "A Friend in Deed". It's only when she tries too hard, or simply when one is forced into her presence for prolonged periods that she becomes even slightly 'unlikable'.
There is nothing wrong with 'tiring' of her antics: even her friends have to grapple with that reality. But to straight-up not like her is very odd.
Maybe he meant it in exaggerated way? (because I for example sometimes use "dislike" instead of simply "liking the least"). I wouldn't know.
I don't really consider it to be that odd, because sometimes you just don't like anything for no specific reason (I've had strong antipathy against other cartoon characters and I couldn't explain why). But I still see your point
I'm afraid I don't follow the 'no specific reason' thing. By definition there has to be something about the character you don't like before you can dislike them.
Whether the reason for the dislike makes any sense or not is entirely different. 'Because they are missing the tip of their left ring finger' is an extremely stupid and nonsensical reason for disliking someone, but it is still a reason. Careful analysis will surely yield a character trait (or appearance trait) that caused the dislike. Give me a cartoon character who you dislike for unknown reasons, and I'll wager I could list at least one flaw with them.
Actually, that's pretty easy to do with characters I do like. What characters have you that are so likable as to be entirely faultless? I MUST KNOW THIS!
