Alright. It's been a while. More like a very, long time. It has been a weird sort of year since I've been away, not bad weird, but just busy.
A big reason I haven't been drawing much is because I've been frustrated with my computer not working properly, along with the program I use to draw. But now, I've got a slightly newer laptop and started to use Krita as my new drawing program. I'm still getting the hang of it, but from what I am seeing, I am really liking it and I am looking forward to trying out the animation features soon.
I also wanted to let everyone know that I am trying to branch out more. I have only used deviantArt to upload a majority of my artwork and recently (really a few years ago) used tumblr, but now I want to try and create an account on Instagram and Twitter to try and widen my audience. I personally don't use those social media outlets, but I feel like I am too stubborn when it comes to these new types of websites. I will let you know once those pages are up and running.
Another thing I want to bring up is my content. As of the past few years I tried to stay away from making fanart, seeing as a majority of my artwork consists of that, and made my own original art. But just because I stopped drawing fanart doesn't mean I want to stop completely and I've been doodling things from media that I liked, but never uploaded any of it. Which brings me to this question, would you like to see me upload fanart again on this account or should I create another page/site for fanart or my original content exclusively? This would also affect my plans with twitter and Instagram. Really, I just want an excuse to draw more and practice.
I've become incredibly rusty drawing on a tablet and learning a new program on top of that is daunting, but I do want to upload more artwork.
And, as if this journal entry can't get any longer, I've been juggling around the idea of starting a Patreon as well. It won't be a place to upload content exclusively under a paywall, but more or a way to have fans offer some financial support and show their appreciation. Of course I wouldn't expect everyone to donate and having people be aware of me and my artwork really is more than enough, but having some extra pocket change can really free up some time to draw a lot more frequently. It's just a thought at the moment, but I would love to hear your comments about Patreon and my other ideas mentioned above.
I'm excited to get back into the groove of things and looking forward to how this will all play out. Thank you for reading.
